Panacea applies to extend licence

Panacea have submitted an application to Cheshire East Council to vary their premises license. They are wanting to extend the licence by an hour until 3am on Sundays and 4am on other days.

Panacea are also requesting a licence to allow regulated entertainment on the external terrace, stating that "Regulated Entertainment in the external area shall be limited to a level agreed with the Environmental Health Officer. The provision of such Regulated Entertainment (to include live music, recorded music and performance of dance) in this area shall cease at 1am."

The Parish Council are strongly opposed to this application and at Monday's meeting Councillor Mary Maczkowiak said "I don't think local residents have been notified and I can hear Panacea from my house just off Heyes Lane. If approved this application will set a precedent that will continue in to the village."

Councillor Alan Jones added "It is unnecessary to have that potential for noise until that time in the morning."

The Parish Council decided to ask the Environmental Officer for some facts and figures relating to complaints both throughout the village and specifically about Panacea.

A decision regarding this application to vary Panacea's premises license will be made next month.

It's absolutely ridiculous to allow this planning application in a small village. The Panacea is surrounded by houses, apartments and elderley care homes. In fact I think the Parish Council should reduce their opening hours and restrict any external noise.

I thought the owners had been told to remove the unsightly razor wire, If they haven't complied with that, how are we going to enforce any other regulations?
