The atmosphere at Pownall Hall School has been filled with pride and celebration as our Form 6 pupils have achieved incredible success in their 11+ exams. With 26 children sitting the exams, an astounding 72 offers were received from prestigious Independent Senior Schools, including two academic scholarships from King's School, Macclesfield and Cheadle Hulme School. This exceptional achievement is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and determination shown by each and every child - we could not be any more proud.
Our children have secured places at leading schools both nationally and internationally, reflecting the high regard in which Pownall Hall School is held. A remarkable 21 offers were received from Cheadle Hulme School, 17 from King's School, Macclesfield, and 14 from Stockport Grammar School. Additional offers came from The Grange (5), Manchester Grammar School (1), Alderley Edge School for Girls (6), Repton Al Barsha, Dubai (2), Marlborough College Boarding (2), Farringtons School (1), Hulme Hall (1), Cransley School (1), and Terra Nova (1).
Headmaster David Goulbourn expressed his immense pride in this year's Form 6, saying:
"I could not be prouder of the children. Their dedication and determination has been truly inspiring, and they have each embraced the challenge of the 11+ with a positive, growth mindset. The number of offers received, including scholarships, is an incredible achievement. At Pownall, we believe that 'everything is possible,' and this year's results prove that with hard work and self-belief, our children can achieve anything."
It is particularly rewarding to see that offers have been accepted at a diverse range of schools. Pownall Hall School nurtures the individual aspirations and ambitions of every child and prepares them completely for the next step in their journey, whether to 11+ day schools, boarding schools, international schools or state secondary schools. Eleven children will be moving on to Cheadle Hulme School, six to King's School, Macclesfield, and two to Repton Al Barsha, Dubai. Further acceptances include Stockport Grammar School (1), Farringtons School (1), Manchester Grammar School (1), Alderley Edge School for Girls (3), The Grange (2), and Hulme Hall (1).
Beyond academic success, these results are a reflection of the strength of character, determination, and perseverance displayed by the children. They have approached every challenge with enthusiasm and a belief that they can succeed—qualities that will serve them well as they embark on the next stage of their education.
