Alderley Edge Christmas lights switch on, scheduled to tomorrow (Saturday 23rd November) has been cancelled due to due to the forecast of strong winds and rain.
Councillor Vince Fogharty of Alderley Edge Parish Council, said "We have made the difficult decision to cancel the Alderley Edge Christmas Lights Switch On scheduled for tomorrow. After careful consideration and discussions with our team and suppliers, prioritising the safety and comfort of our community and visitors is paramount.
"We understand the impact of this decision and share your disappointment. This decision was not made lightly, especially given the hard work and preparation by many, including our dedicated councillors and volunteers.
"Please note that the Christmas lights will be turned on manually over the weekend to ensure our village still sparkles with festive spirit."
