The Christmas season officially starts in Alderley Edge this weekend.
The Christmas lights will be switched on this Saturday, 23rd November as the build-up to the 2024 festive period in the village begins.
Once again, there will be a market along London Road from 4pm to 8pm, featuring food and drink to unique gifts.
Entertainment on the stage will commence at 4pm, with local bands, singers, and school groups offering live musical performances to spread holiday cheer.
The schedule for the performances will be:
- 4pm Echo Academy
- 4.30pm Onyx Dance
- 5pm Alderley Dance School
- 5.30 AES4G
- 6.30 Siren Sounds Choir
- 7pm Disney Princess
Ali Bates, Chair of Alderley Edge Parish Council, said, "We can't wait for this year's switch on—it's going to be something special. The Disney Princess and Father Christmas will be leading our countdown in a magical evening filled with market stalls and live entertainment.
"It's also a fantastic opportunity to support our local businesses and community groups who are here for us all year round. A great way to bring the village together and start the festive season."
London Road will be closed from 2pm to 9pm from the entrance of the Waitrose car park up to the corner of Chapel Road.
