Alderley Edge School for Girls celebrates the remarkable achievements of its Year 13 students as they receive their outstanding A Level results today. A third of all grades achieved were A*- A. The entire school community, students, staff and families alike joined together in pride and joy for the hard work and dedication that has led to this momentous day.
AESG is immensely proud that its students will be attending some of the UK's most prestigious universities. They will be pursuing a range of disciplines from Medicine at Liverpool, Geography at Durham and Law at Liverpool to History and Politics at Edinburgh and English Literature at Bristol. These achievements reflect the school's outstanding teaching and learning as well as the students' commitment, dedication and hard work.
AESG is also proud of its students pursuing a wide range of disciplines, showcasing their individuality and the breadth of their aspirations. AESG is particularly proud of the diverse range of university courses its students will embark on this September, from Fine Art at Falmouth University and Geography and Urban Planning at Newcastle University to Business Management at Bayes Business School in London and Physiotherapy at the University of Birmingham reflecting its commitment to nurturing each girl's unique passions and talents.
Acting Headmistress, Mrs. Caroline Wood, expressed her delight: "We are thrilled to celebrate with all of our students following their outstanding A Level results. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, dedication and resilience. Each girl's success reflects not only her individual effort but also the unwavering support of our entire school community. As they leave AESG, I am confident they will seize every opportunity, just as they have done here, and will undoubtedly achieve great success in the next chapter of their lives."
There have been many individual successes, including Kate Taylor who received A*A*A* A in Politics, History, Maths and Physics and will be going to The University of Edinburgh to read History and Politics. Lilia Fraser who received A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and an A in her EPQ and will read Medicine at University of Liverpool.
Annie Swindells received an A*A*A in Business, Economics and Geography and will read Business Management at Bayes Business School, City, University of London and Niamh Williams received AAB in English Literature, Geography and Politics and will read English Literature at University of Bristol.
Head of Sixth Form, Ms Billington added: "We are tremendously proud of this year's cohort of AESG A Level students, and it has been a joy and a privilege to support them as their Head of Sixth Form. The diversity of courses they will now go on to study is testament to the huge range of interests and skills they have honed together. They have given to our AESG community with great generosity, and I know they will enrich the communities they now join further afield."
