Plans to convert the lodge at Alderley Edge Cemetery, which is located within the Green Belt on Chelford Road, have been approved.

Permission has been granted to convert the two-storey detached dwelling, with a central undercroft, into two homes along with an extension and addition of dormer windows.

The west side elevation of the dwelling will feature a single storey extension at ground floor. This dwelling within the west of the building will have three bedrooms, whilst the dwelling in the east side of the building will have two bedrooms. Both properties will have two car parking spaces.

The application is a re-submission of previously refused application 22/3251M which Cheshire East Council refused stating "Insufficient information has been provided regarding the impact of the development on bats" and "insufficient information has been provided regarding the impact of the development on existing trees."

A bat survey, and tree survey were submitted as part of this current application and the floor and elevation plans have not been altered from the previous application.

The plans can be viewed on the Council's planning portal by searching for planning reference 23/3499M.
