Wilmslow and Alderley Edge students at King's were celebrating after achieving superb grades on A Level results day.
Overall, at the top independent school, almost 50% of grades were either A* or A with a superb seven students achieving three A*s. In addition, 80 per cent of grades were A* to B with around a third of students scoring three As or above.
This brilliant set of results caps another hugely successful year for King's students. And students from Wilmslow, Mottram and Alderley Edge were among those celebrating success.
Pictured from left to right: Grade 8 Electric guitarist Sammy Earnshaw, 18, from Alderley Edge gained A*s in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths. Sammy is now heading to Durham to read Chemistry.
Owen Branthwaite, 18, from Wilmslow, is heading to Jesus College, Cambridge to read Maths after gaining four A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Owen played rugby for the 1st team whilst at King's.
Thomas Whitney, 18, from Mottram, gained three As in History, Economics and Chemistry plus an A* in his EPQ. Thomas is heading to Sheffield University to read Economics and holds an ambition to work in finance.
Top class climber Emma Edwards, 18, from Mottram, secured an A* in Biology and As in Chemistry and Maths. Emma is in the Great Britain climbing team and finished 7th in the European Youth Cup in Graz.
King's Head Jason Slack was delighted and paid tribute to the students, highlighting their work ethic and commitment. He said: "This cohort have worked exceptionally hard and thoroughly deserve these wonderful results. To consistently perform at the highest level requires sustained commitment and these students have demonstrated that they have what it takes.
"In addition, they have developed the character and broader skills necessary to meet the challenges of the modern world through a wide range of extra-curricular interests and I look forward to hearing of their success in the future. I couldn't be more proud of them."
Also pictured from left to right are Ananiel Antony, who achieved As in Physics, Maths and Chemistry and now heads to Sheffield to study Mechanical Engineering; Harriet Bailey, who gained an A* in Business and As in Spanish and Psychology. She will now read International Management and Spanish at Bath University; talented musician Rebecca Foster, who gained three A*s in Biology, Geography and her EPQ plus an A in Politics. She's now heading to Durham to study Biology. Rebecca is a Grade 5 Trombonist and also holds silver and bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards; and King's School hockey captain Lewis Johnstone, who is heading to Bristol to study Chemistry. Lewis gained an A* in Chemistry and As in Art and Physics. He's also the holder of a gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
