Local charity to host another souper fundraiser

Wilmslow Wells for Africa is preparing to serve up one of the major fundraising events again.

The local charity will be holding their Souperday will take place on Saturday 11th March from 11.30am to 2pm at the Wilmslow Methodist Church Halls on Water Lane.

Admission is £5 cash for a choice of four soups with home-made bread and a hot drink included. Alongside these, homemade cakes will also be sold, many of which will be donated by the Ladies of Fulshaw WI.

Helen Battilana (Trustee, Wilmslow Wells for Africa charity), said "Why do we need to raise money for this volunteer-run charity? We've raised more than £1.5 million since our formation in 1984 and spent 99.3% of that sum directly on projects, but access to clean water is still need in so many parts of rural Africa.

"Do join us at Souperday for a friendly community event which will benefit so many African villagers with their basic need for clean water."
