National competition success for Alderley Edge School for Girls’ pupil

Alderley Edge School for Girls' pupil, Lara Coulter, has been announced as runner up in the national Independent Schools Association (ISA) Young Musician of the Year competition in the senior category, playing Flamenco Study No 3 – Krystof Zygra on the flute.

Lara who is in Sixth Form at the school, got down to the final list of ten last month and is delighted to have achieved second place across the country.

Director of Music at the school, Mrs Pattrick commented, "Huge congratulations to Lara for all the hard work and a brilliant final piece. I am very proud of her success when up against some talented performers and strong competition."

Mrs Smillie, Headmistress added, "It is fantastic that our girls are achieving at such a high level in national competitions. Lara's success in the senior music category mirrors the accomplishment of Dalia Halwani who came 2nd nationally in the ISA Film & Digital Art Competition at the end of last year."
