After 21 years in the same family home in Hale Barns, it was going to take something very special to tempt Ruth and Andrew Morgan to move, but after an impulse visit to Bellway's luxurious Heatherley Wood development in Alderley Park the couple fell in love with the idyllic semi-rural country parkland location and immediately made a reservation.

It was Andrew who first spotted the development on social media; attracted by the stunning street scenes and visuals of Heatherley Wood's magnificent Mayfield show home he couldn't help but pop in for a look while he was out and about having his hair cut in Alderley Edge.

Driving through the leafy parkland to the development, he was instantly impressed and, after a conversation with Bellway's friendly sales advisor, and the chance to look around the beautiful show home, he caught up with Ruth and they both went back first thing the next day.

"It was meant to be," said Andrew, "When we went back together, it was a glorious day; the sun was shining, the park looked superb and the sheep were out grazing gently in the fields. We couldn't believe how lovely it was, and how amazing these houses were, nestled among all of this natural beauty."

Arriving back into Hale Barns that afternoon, they were struck by how much noise they could hear from their old home, "After spending a lovely couple of hours at Heatherley Wood, we immediately noticed that we could hear both the motorway and the airport from our back garden," said Ruth, "The airport expansion and development of new roads over recent years have made Hale feel noisier, and we also noticed the lack of open green space."

Their decision was made that afternoon, and they rang the development and reserved the initial property that had caught Andrew's eye, a fabulous five bedroom detached three storey Mayfield house type with double detached garage.

Ruth and Andrew are parents to two 17-year-old children, twins called Harry and Holly, and the family has a charming golden retriever called Skye. "We all absolutely love the house and its location – including Skye," said Ruth, "We love the way the house looks from the outside with its beautiful brickwork, big windows and two chimneys and the way the space is planned inside with the large kitchen dining area, family snug and formal lounge.

"With five bedrooms over three floors there's so much space for us all to enjoy being at home without being on top of each other and when we need to take Skye for a walk we step outside into our own private country parkland estate of woodland trails and walking routes around the lake or go up to The Edge. Skye is in her element chasing squirrels and we all enjoy being so close to nature.

"The house works perfectly inside for us too," continued Ruth, "The twins have the two bedrooms on the top floor. It's a real teenagers' hideaway and they adore it, they each have their own space, a beautiful bathroom to share and can see the woodland and treetops from their Velux windows. We have the master and the other two bedrooms are used as a guest room and an office while we are both still doing a lot of work from home."

Ruth is a qualified personal nutritionist and cookery consultant with her own business, Healthy Lives, and Andrew runs his own financial planning company, NOW Financial Planning, that has an office based in Hale which is just a short 15 minute drive away through Mobberley and Ashley. With the additional space that their new home provides, both have successfully worked from home during the pandemic and will continue to divide their time between the two moving forward to benefit from the wonderful work life balance that the parkland location provides.

Both Andrew and Ruth were impressed with the warm welcome they received at Heatherley Wood and the smooth purchase process that eventually saw them move into their dream home in February earlier this year.

"Buying the house was a really enjoyable experience," said Andrew, "The service that we have received from the Bellway team has been nothing short of fantastic from start to finish. Gabby, Lin and Chantelle helped us with our reservation and choosing our extras, they gave us some really good guidance on what works well together and were always sensible and never pushy. They knew everything about the home, and were there for us on the day we moved in.

"We've also worked closely with site manager Karl and assistant manager Tony who invited us to site every two weeks to view the progress of our plot and be fully involved with the build progress," continues Andrew, "We certainly didn't expect this, but it has been great to see it built before our eyes, and the one or two snags that we've had have been sorted immediately."

"You can just tell that they all really care," said Ruth, "Good service really stands out, and we've been extremely well looked after."

After six months in their new home, Andrew and Ruth are delighted that they made the decision to move and looking forward to a new chapter in their lives in this beautiful place. They have joined the gym at Alderley Park which is a few minutes' walk from the house, and are looking forward to the opening of the gastro pub in the next month or so.

"I still look at my house and think 'wow, it's beautiful'" says Ruth, "The lovely staircase, the bay windows and the kitchen are my favourite things, plus the quality of the fixtures and fittings which make such a difference to the overall finish of the house. We can't believe how warm the house has been, even now it's getting colder, but are secretly looking forward to the winter months and being able to enjoy a glass of wine in front of the log burner."

They've also enjoyed being so close to Alderley Edge. "We've both always loved Alderley village," said Andrew, "It reminds us of Hale with its independent boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. We really feel that we have the best of both worlds; a bespoke home nestled in beautiful parkland and surrounded by woodland walking trails and nature with its own gym and pub, and a bustling village just a couple of minutes' drive away."
