Organisers of the Alderley Edge May Fair are delighted to announce who they have selected to be this year's Queen and Princesses.
All girls were chosen for these important roles after they attended the May Fair stand at the Christmas Lights Switch On in November.
The 2019 May Fair Queen is 11-year-old Isabella Lavelle who lives in Alderley Edge and loves running, gymnastics and music. She has a very bubbly personality and enjoys reading and fashion.
She will be accompanied by the Princesse Matilda and Marie.
Matilda is 5 years old and in Year 1 at Alderley Edge Community Primary School. She is very kind and caring to others, loves animals and wants to be a vet (on a farm) when she grows up. Matilda loves going to Rainbows, playing in the park, and her hobbies include swimming, ballet and tap dancing.
Marie, who is 6 years old and also attending Year 1 Alderley Edge Community Primary School, is always smiling and helpful. She loves to draw horses and unicorns. In the future, Marie would like to be an artist and fashion designer. She likes going to Rainbows, looking after her guinea pig and playing with her younger sister.
Liz Marshall said "The Alderley Edge May Fair Committee are delighted that these three young girls will be fulfilling the role of May Queen and Princesses and joining a long line of previous May Queens and Attendants in what will be a very memorable occasion for them."
Organisers are appealing to any past May Queens, Princesses, Paige's etc. to come forward and join in with the parade on Saturday 18h May, where they will have some special cars for them to travel in. Please email [email protected].
