Pianist to perform lunchtime concert

Kaner-Lidstrom, Leif - Apr 2018

Alderley Edge Methodist Church are pleased to welcome pianist Leif Kaner-Lidstrom to perform their April Lunchtime Concert on Wednesday, 18th April.

He appears by kind permission of the Royal Northern College of Music and will be playing Brahms: "7 Fantasien" followed by a composition of his own: "Suite for Piano".

With his father Mats Lidstrom, cellist and professor at the Royal Academy of Music, Leif has performed duo recitals throughout the UK, Sweden and Italy. He has also performed on BBC Radio 3 In-Tune with Sean Rafferty.

In the summer of 2017 Leif performed in Sweden with renowned mezzo soprano Anne Sofie von Otter as well as performing duo repertoire with renowned pianist Bengt Forsberg. Leif made his solo debut at the Bridgewater Hall in October 2017 and he will be making his debut in the Wigmore Hall as a chamber musician in May 2018 with the RNCM New Ensemble.

Admission is by programme, priced £5 and available at the door.

Light lunches will be served from 12 noon and the concert will commence at 1pm.

Proceeds from the April concert will be donated to "All We Can", an international development and emergency relief organisation. Focusing on those in greatest need, it is inspired by Christian principles, with its roots in the British Methodist Church.
