A section of Wilmslow Road, with a number of large potholes, will be completely resurfaced in the new year.
Councillor Craig Browne, who has been chasing Cheshire East Highways for quite some time, said "I am pleased to confirm that a 70m section of Wilmslow Road is to be completely resurfaced in the current financial year and that includes the complete reconstruction of a 20m section at the top of Brook Lane.
"That will necessitate a road closure because of the type of work that is going to be undertaken and for that reason it has been programmed for the February half term to try and minimise disruption."
The work is being funded with money left over from projects carried out in the current financial year and Councillor Craig Browne has also been assured that Heyes Lane will be included in the programme for the 2018/19 financial year.
He explained "They both need doing and I think everybody is aware of that but it wasn't possible to include both Heyes Lane and Wilmslow Road in this year's programme."

An aside : Re : The speeding tractors down London Road .... The "farmer"(s) who is/are responsible for sending these youngsters speeding through the village need to have a word in their shell likes .... The "emergency stops" by these tractors when the lights turn to red outside my shop is becoming a daily occurrence ....
Slow down !!! I don't think that is an unreasonable request
