Bubble Rush success

There were bubbles blowing everywhere as East Cheshire Hospice staged its most colourful fundraising event of the summer.
Bubble Rush 2017 attracted more than 1,000 participants who completed a 5k course through the grounds of Alderley Park. on Saturday, 1st July.

Four Bubble Stations around the course pumped out foam, ensuring everyone worked themselves into a lather raising around £32,000 for the Hospice.

Three generations of the Whitburn family, from Macclesfield, entered into the spirit of the occasion. Sofia (9) and younger sister Martha (5) were joined by dad Jason, mum Louise and grandparents Denis and Margaret Hartle.

Louise said: "It was a great day out and the kids love it. It's nice that people of all ages can take part and go round the course at their own pace and it's not a race.

"It was a lovely sunny day as well and the location was fantastic with a forest, lake and an undulating course. We like to support Hospice fundraising events and this one's a bit different."

Live entertainment added to the party atmosphere. Beth Candy, Events Assistant at the Hospice, said: "This was our third Bubble Rush and we'd like to thank all our supporters for coming along. All money raised goes directly to providing hospice care across Cheshire."
