To celebrate National Storytelling Week, students from Alderley Edge School for Girls attended Brookview care home on Wednesday, 1st February, to read to the residents.
The young storytellers read classic novels such as Anne of Green Gables, to a lounge full of local residents whilst they also enjoyed tea and cakes.
Students from Alderley Edge School for Girls attend the care home on a weekly basis to spend time speaking with the residents, who enjoy their company.
Maureen Southern, Home Manager at Bupa's Brookview care home said: "We have a real family environment here at Brookview and it's great to have such strong ties with the local community.
"The residents thoroughly enjoy visits from the students who help to stimulate their memories by talking about the resident's past experiences. Celebrating National Storytelling Week was a special afternoon for everyone involved."
