Longstanding friends, Egle Sarmaviciute and Yulia Vershinina, formed the Albireo Piano Duo while they were doing postgraduate degrees at the Royal Northern College of Music. Their debut performance at the RNCM Chamber Music Festival was shortly followed by winning the RNCM Piano Duo Prize.

Jean Walker said "Both pianists relish in an active performing career as soloists and chamber musicians. Egle and Yulia share a versatile technique, an expressive and rich sound palette and an idealistic vision of Music."
