
Edward Pysden from Alderley Edge was this week named as the new Chairman of tourist board Visit Chester & Cheshire.

Mr Pysden's appointment to the role was announced at the organisation's AGM as it unveiled its vision for the future of the sector amid a changing economic and local authority landscape.
Edward Pysden is a Solicitor and Senior Corporate Partner at international law firm Eversheds LLP. He brings a wealth of experience from the tourism sector, having held positions within the Manchester Airport Group as interim Chair and Board Member of Marketing Manchester.
Mr Pysden, 61, said: "I’m delighted to take up this role at such a crucial time for the visitor economy in Chester & Cheshire. The importance of tourism in leading the area out of recession cannot be underestimated and Visit Chester & Chester will play a major part in focusing the efforts of both the public and private sectors to this end."
Mr Pysden concluded that "The potential for Chester and Cheshire to continue to grow and develop as a number one visitor destination is tremendous. We have a sound foundation of attractions and initiatives to build upon."
