The Jaguar XE will be arriving at Royles Wilmslow on Thursday 26th February as part of its nationwide preview tour.

For one day only, from 11.30am to 8.30pm, the XE will be on static display for customers to view.

Presentations by Jaguar ambassadors will take place throughout the day and evening and light refreshments will be available at lunchtime. Then from 6pm to 8.30pm hot canapé's will be on offer and there will be a complimentary bar. There will be a presentation at 7pm from St James's Place Wealth Management, discussing estate protection and pending pension changes from April 2015 for anyone interested.

As the event is by invitation only, if you are interested in attending, please contact a member of the sales team on 01625 546200 or email [email protected] to confirm that you wish to attend.

The XE will be in the showroom at Royles in April 2015, with test drives available in May 2015 and deliveries following shortly afterwards.

The Jaguar XE will feature all-new and mostly aluminium architecture that's strong and very lightweight. The XE will also offer brand new Ingenium engines, designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK. The Ingenium engine line-up will first launch with a 2.0-litre diesel available for the XE saloon, a 2.0-litre petrol variant will follow later. Jaguar has previously revealed that these new engines will deliver CO2 emission outputs as low as 99g/km and also top speeds of up to 186mph.

The Jaguar XE will be a direct rival to other compact executive cars like the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4.

The XE will be driven by the rear wheels, much like the rivalling BMW 3 Series, however the Jaguar XE will also have a newly developed traction control system called All Surface Progress Control (ASPC). This feature aims to improve grip in slippery conditions which cars with rear wheel-drive usually struggle against. ASPC functions like a low-speed cruise control, delivering optimum traction in low grip conditions without any skidding and without input from the driver's pedals.

Jaguar has also developed an integral link suspension designed to reduce road noise and improve ride quality compared to many other executive saloons. The new suspension should also deliver sharper handling.

The front suspension is based on that used in Jaguar's impressive F-TYPE sports car. Jaguar claims it will be as stiff as the performance-focused XFR saloon, which should result in precise handling for the XE. The compact saloon will be the first Jaguar to feature the company's latest-generation Electric Power Assisted Steering.
