Children are being urged to help a local shepherd who has lost all his sheep.

For the second consecutive year Alderley Edge Methodist Church has organised a sheep hunt for the run up to Christmas.

To coincide with the Christmas Tree Festival, the 'Village Sheep Hunt' will take place from Monday 1st December to Friday 5th December.

About 20 knitted sheep will be hidden in shops around the village, each of which will be named and the challenge is for the children to find as many as they can and collect their names.

Jenny Mossman, Family Missioner at Alderley Edge Methodist Church said "Help! Our local shepherd has lost all his sheep. Rumour has it that they are sheltering in some of the local shops in Alderley Edge! He's started looking for them, but he can't do it by himself –he needs your help and there are prizes for anyone who can find them."

In order to enter the hunt you need to pick up a form from any participating shop and then you have a week to look for as many sheep as you can find.

Then take the completed form along to Alderley Edge Methodist Church on Friday 5th December at 6pm or any time on Saturday 6th December to collect your reward.
