Plans to replace former convent with 4 houses approved

nunshome

Planning permission has been granted to demolish the former nun's home on Ryleys Lane and replace it with four houses.

As a result of feedback from the local authority, the original application (reference 13/4068M) was withdrawn so amendments could be made.

The approved scheme is still for four units but these are now all semi-detached with the overall internal area of the properties reduced by approximately a third.

The ridge height was also reduced by 1 metre, the properties were moved a further 2.5 metres away from the side boundary and access limited to the entrance off Ryleys Lane - leaving the northern access for the tennis courts behind.

The approved plans can be viewed on Cheshire East Council's website by searching for planning reference 13/4993M.

The original building on site predated 1874, but was demolished in the late 1960s/ early 1970s when this building was constructed.
The existing building isn't of any great architectural interest and it is in a sustainable location I think that its a perfect location for new dwellings, certainly better than green belt
