Man arrested after stealing car from Arderne Place

A 38 year old male from Bolton has been arrested by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) after stealing a car from outside the owner's property in Alderley Edge.

Just after 2am on Wednesday, 10th June, police were called to a report of suspicious activity at Windermere Drive, involving a white Ford Fiesta which was being driven erratically. A short time after police observed the vehicle which failed to stop.

It was then pursued by GMP from Wilmslow to the M60 where it was in collision with a police vehicle.

Enquires revealed that the Fiesta he was driving had been stolen from Arderne Place.

The man has since been interviewed and charged with Aggravated Vehicle Taking, failing to provide a sample of breath and driving whilst disqualified by GMP.

The car has been written off.
