Owners of big Manchester venue set to open in village

Work is starting at 34 London Road, the former Alderley Rose building, where we understand the owners of Manchester's Vermilion and Cinnabar will be opening a new venue.

A planning application (reference 14/1405M) has been submitted to install new windows to the front and side facades of 34 London Road, along with a new front treatment and canopy. A second application (reference 14/1404M) is for a wall mounted hanging sign.

The huge three-storey Vermilion restaurant and Cinnabar cocktail lounge was opened in East Manchester in 2007 by Iqbal Ahmed OBE, Chairman of Seamark Plc and his son Manzur.

Vermilion, which serves Thai Fusion cuisine alongside a selection of burgers, and the second floor cocktail bar were designed by Miguel Cancio Martins - creator of the Buddha Bar and Man Ray in Paris.

The Parish Council has no objection to this application subject to conditions preventing the construction of decking on the public highway and conditions controlling the use of any alfresco seating which might block or impede the public highway.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 14/1405M. A decision is expected to be made by 7th May.

Lets hope it's better than their Manchester restaurant.

I love the way the eyes of our Parish Councillors work.... you see that upturned former sewage pipe tastefully decorated with moss and weeds.... well thats not blocking or impeding the public highway, but it seems that people who would bring money into the local economy would be.
