Fifth generation confectioner Heather Wienholt and her team have been hard at work making Wienholt's usual fabulous display of Easter eggs.

At Wienholts bakery in Alderley Edge the last few years have seen the addition of a dedicated chocolate room, where we hand mould our Easter eggs using methods which we are sure would get approval from great-great grandpa Ferdinand Wienholt. He was the original German immigrant who started up the Wienholt baking enterprise in Manchester back in the 1880s.

Our unique hand moulded eggs are a real delight on Easter morning, the perfect antidote to mass produced eggs. We design our eggs to appeal to all tastes and ages and use the finest Callebaut Belgium chocolate couverture.

Children will enjoy Henry the Dog, a milk chocolate egg with a very friendly marzipan dog on top. But the adults are not forgotten, those who like dark chocolate will enjoy the Dark Chocolate and Almond Egg with rich dark chocolate truffles inside. While for a touch of luxury the Golden Egg flecked with real edible gold flakes and Salted Caramel Truffles will make a wonderful Easter gift for that special someone.

We have many moulded Easter characters and lollies while if it is the wow factor you are after, this year we have very special extra-large eggs, decorated with royal icing flowers.

Don't forget to pick up some hot cross buns when you come in, they are hand rolled and made fresh every morning, perfect toasted with lots of butter!

Our opening times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9 – 5.

Easter week we will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 9 – 5.
