Churches Together in Alderley are marking Women's World Day of Prayer with a special programme about the women in Egypt.

Women's World day of Prayer is an international, inter-church organisation, which enables people to hear the voices of women from all parts of the world; their hopes, concerns, and prayers.

The preparation for the day is extensive; an international committee works from New York and each participating country has its own national committee. Regional conferences meet to consider the service, and then local groups make their plans.

Churches Together in Alderley will gather on Friday, 7th March, in St Philips & St James Church at 7pm to celebrate a programme of worship offered this year by women in Egypt. The theme of the service is 'Streams in the Desert' and local resident Rachel Roberts will talk about her work in Egypt.

Men, women and people of all ages welcome, with refreshments served at end of service 8pm.
