York Stone has been lifted from the driveway of a property on Davey Lane during the night.

Offenders removed about nine square metres of the valuable slabs between the hours of midnight on Wednesday 30th October and 9am the following morning, whilst the property was unoccupied.

This follows an earlier incident last month when two tons of York stone and building materials were stolen from a house on Heyes Lane which is currently undergoing renovation.

Police are warning residents to be vigilant as there has been an increase in the theft of York stone in the past few months.

A police spokesperson said "Please be alerted to this and if you are thinking of having any of this work carried out please let neighbours know that strangers will be working on your property."

Anyone with information about this incident should contact Wilmslow Police on 101. Alternatively information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
