Unfortunately due to the forecast of high winds, Alderley Edge Community Primary School have had to cancel their event.

Alderley Edge Community Primary School are preparing for their annual Bonfire and Firework Display which takes place on the school field.

This long established and popular village event will be on Saturday 2nd November - providing plenty of entertainment for all the family.

In addition to the professional firework display and bonfire there will be fairground rides, stalls and refreshments including a bar and BBQ.

Headteacher Mr Perry said "Our school has hosted a bonfire and firework display for over 20 years and each year it seems to get better and better. The professional firework company put on a fantastic display that entertains the crowds brilliantly every year.

"The event is a wonderful family event with everything geared towards providing a safe and enjoyable setting for children and their families - there is definitely something for everyone – stalls, bouncy slides, fairground rides, face painting, hot food, hot drinks and a bar.

"It is an excellent event that is enjoyed by families from across the Alderley Edge and Wilmslow area as well as the wider community. I am sure it will be, yet again, a superb event this year."

Gates open from 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at approximately 6pm and the firework display will start about 7pm. Family tickets are £15 (2 adults and 3 children) whilst adult tickets are £5 and children's £3.

Please note personal fireworks and sparklers are not allowed on the school site.

On Sunday, November 3rd, Alderley Edge Cricket Club will be hosting their annual fireworks display. Entertainment on offer includes barbecue, hog roast, licensed bar, children's tuck shop, mulled wine and children's fairground rides.

This is the 7th year AECC has hosted the family event, with an average of 1200 attending each year.

John Berry, Manager of the cricket club, said "The event was conceived seven years ago as a valuable community event to add to other events such as the Xmas lights switch on, Village Fete and May Fair, hopefully enhancing Alderley's traditional appeal as a family friendly village community."

Tickets are available in advance from the clubhouse, or by calling 01625 584733. Gates open at 4pm and the firework display is expected to start just after 6pm.

20 years? Ever since we came to Alderley in 1985! Pushing 30, and I don't think it was new then!
