
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Alderley Edge this morning.
At 8.07am on Monday, 16th September, police were called to a collision on the A34 Alderley Edge bypass.
A Porsche Cayman had been in collision with a Ford Focus which had been travelling in the opposite direction. Fire crews releases casualties trapped in the Ford Focus by removing the roof of the vehicle.
The three occupants of the Ford Focus, a mother and two sons, were taken to Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
One of the passengers, an 11-year-old boy from Sandbach was taken to Manchester Royal Children's Hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, he died a short time later.
The driver of the Porsche was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Road closures are in place while emergency services are working at the scene.

Updated: 4.10pm The Alderley Edge Bypass has now reopened.
