Residents invited to second police focus group

Wilmslow Police have set the date for the second meeting of the Focus Group to enable local residents to have their say about local issues which are of most concern to them.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 19th September from 7.15pm to 8pm at Wilmslow High School.

Inspector Sue Mills said "The meeting allows the public to set targets for the police to look at over the upcoming months. This increased engagement allows the police and public to have more interaction, questions will be answered by the attending officers and the next quarterly meetings priorities will be set."

Inspector Mills added "Looking back over the last Focus Group priorities speeding was a problem within the area of Morley Green road, this has been targeted by officers and a drop in drivers speed has been recorded producing good results within the area.

"Speeding was also a concern in other areas of Wilmslow including Moor Lane and Manchester road, these roads have also been targeted and again we are seeing a reduction in the speed of cars within those areas."

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, which covers both Alderley Edge and Wilmslow, during which the police will be updating the group on the concerns raised at the last meeting and discussing any new concerns.
