The new Bubble Room bursts open

Having closed its doors for two weeks to carry out an extensive refurbishment, the new enlarged Bubble Room is open for business.

The bar and restaurant, which the Masons first opened in the village in December 2005, is a real family affair with Mark and Jane joined by their sons Lee and Scott and future daughter-in-law Emma Cail - who manages the Alderley Edge branch.

The new Bubble Room is much larger, as it now also occupies the neighbouring building where the post office used to be.

The Mason family were keen to enlarge the premises to make their business more viable in the village and to expand the restaurant side. However, it was crucial to them that they kept the same ethos and the same comfortable feeling.

Jane Mason said "As you are well aware the extension has been a long time coming as we waited for the post office to be relocated in the village before we commenced with our plans. Now that we have finished we are very pleased with the outcome as the space now enables us to operate as envisaged with a larger kitchen and more dining covers in one area.

"Our concept has always been an independent family run operation, with personal service, shabby chic décor, relaxed and focused on comfort. The new extension has enabled us to update the concept without loosing our initial values."

Mark Mason designed the interior of the new restaurant and bar, including chiselling the fantastic monkey on the brick wall himself (which can be seen in the photo above). Whilst the concept was his, the family were all very hands on and they strived to use as many local tradesmen as they could - with the furthest away being their electrician from Congleton - enhancing their policy of employing from the local area.

Jane added "We have been very touched by the support of our local customers and their comments before, during and now they have been introduced to the New Bubble and we offer a big thank you to them. We would also like to thank our committed and loyal team of staff who have worked so hard in delivering the New Bubble.

"We believe the village is a great place to work and live - it offers something for everyone, you have only to walk down the High Street on a Saturday morning to see how vibrant the village is and we are looking forward to offering our style of operation to locals and visitors alike."

To maintain an informal feel to the place, customers can eat wherever they wish but tables can be booked in advance. In addition to the main, much enlarged, bar and restaurant area there is the 'Monkey Lounge' function room at the back which can be hired for private parties and meetings.
