Plans have been approved to create a new terrace to enable year round alfresco dining at Panacea when it reopens next year.

Playworks Ltd applied to extend the existing outdoor dining area prior to the major fire which destroyed the building in March.

Plans include an outside bar, motorised retractable awning to cover the dining area at the front of the restaurant, a new porch at the rear of the property to provide a covered entrance to the nightclub and amendments to the car park layout.

The new awning will span most of the front elevation of the premises, where there will be an external bar at one end with stool seating and the rest of the enclosure will accommodate external seating and tables for dining.

Work started last month to rebuild the restaurant and bar after it was extensively damaged by fire on Tuesday 12th March. The first phase should be completed towards the end of this year and Panacea hope to be back up and running during the early part of 2014.

The application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 13/0737M.

Wow, this terrace looks like an eyesore and an ugly carbuncle.

Do we know whether Piccolino are still taking the restaurant space?
