A man posing as a PCSO was disturbed whilst trying to enter a house in the centre of the village.
A white male wearing a uniform similar to that of a PCSO was seen trying the conservatory door of a house on Clifton Street during the afternoon of Wednesday 27th February.
The man is described as being approximately 5ft 7 ins, of slim build and with dark hair. When disturbed he ran off.
A police spokesperson "The incident took place a few hours after a burglary was reported on the same road and it is believed the male was bogus.
"All residents are asked, if they are unsure of who a person is, to ask for identification or contact 101."
