Talented pianist in concert to support church appeal

Manny Vass

A charismatic young pianist will be performing at St. Philip and St. James' church next month to help raise funds for essential restorations works.

Manchester-based Emmanuel Vass performs music ranging from pieces by Bach and Debussy, through to modern classics by the likes of Gershwin to Emmanuel's own glitzy arrangement of the James Bond theme and Bohemian Rhapsody.

The concert, which forms part of Emmanuel's first national tour, is in aid of the St. Philip and St. James Spire Appeal, which was launched in last summer. The church needs to raise money £150,000 to carry out structural repairs to its landmark spire and related works to the Grade II* listed building.

Mandy Parr said "We at St Philips are very pleased to welcome Manny to Alderley Edge and encourage everyone to come and enjoy this lively concert. A huge thank you to Manny for supporting our Spire Appeal.

The Concert is to be held in St. Philip and St. James' church on Saturday 13th April at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Sue Mackman 01625 585068 or Peter Spooner on 07816 850769, priced £11, £10 for OAPs and £8 for students.
