An unoccupied new build house on Macclesfield Road was broken into on Wednesday, 12th September.
Thieves removed the padlocks on the gates, forced the front door and stole fireplaces and computer wiring from within.
PCSO Jim Newns confirmed there have been a number of break-ins at building sites recently.
He said "I would urge people to be vigilant. You may well see what you think are builders but there are people out there impersonating builders so it is always worth us checking it out."
Police have also seen a rise in the number of thefts of Yorkstone paving slabs, which are worth a significant amount when sold on.
Officers say builders vans and flat bed trucks are needed to transport the materials and are asking local people to be on the lookout for anything suspicious.
Sgt Andy Miller said "The people involved in these thefts will often drive around rural areas slowly, going up people's driveways looking for opportunities.
"If you see anything suspicious, you should call the police straight away with as many details as possible, particularly the registration number of the vehicle.
"We will happily investigate any suspicious circumstances so people should not hesitate to give us a call if they see something which gives them cause for concern."
Anyone with information about the theft of building materials or Yorkstone paving slabs should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
