Parish Council minutes: March 2012

On Monday 12th February, I attended the Alderley Edge Parish Council's monthly meeting.

Since then I have reported on some of the issues raised at the meeting, including the problem of litter in the village, the much anticipated parking review, which is now published, and plans to relocate the Alderley Edge Farmer's Market into the village centre which have hit a snag.

I also reported on the councillors discussion about buying back town centre management services and I published an article for the Parish Council as they are inviting interested parties to participate in a selection process which will lead to a Design and Project Management Contract for the refurbishment of the festival hall.

Other issues discussed include the poor condition of local roads, repairs to the war memorial and cemetery and the proposed three week closure of the A34 bypass to enable National Grid to carry out works to the electricity pylons and lines.

The minutes of this month's Parish Council meeting are now available, click here to read about all the local issues covered.

The Alderley Edge Parish Council meet once a month, with the exception of August. All meetings are open to the public and are held in the Council Chamber at the Festival Hall. Dates and further details for the forthcoming meetings can be found in our events section.
