Children in Need school's concert raises over £1,600

Alderley Edge Methodist Church was rocking on Friday, 18th November, for the annual Children In Need concert.

The church was packed full of parents, grandparents, supporters and over 200 local school children who raised a fantastic £1,640 in less than two hours.

Judy Povey, church secretary said "It was a wonderful evening, full of energy, enthusiasm, noise, and fun, and when you add together the entrance money, the constant donating into the collecting buckets, the selling of mountains of cakes kindly donated by Mottram St. Andrew Academy, in addition to the selling off of the Children In Need balloons, then we had a fantastic event."

Judy added "Enormous thanks to Alderley Edge County Primary School, The Ryleys, Alderley Edge School for Girls Junior School, Mottram St.Andrew Academy, Ashdene Primary School, and Alderley District Scout Band for all their efforts, and to everyone who came along to make this village event such a resounding success.

"People were very generous and Children In Need will be most appreciative of their contributions which has enabled us to send off such a brilliant figure. Well done everyone!"
