Corks Out win national award

wine retail award 2011

Corks Out picked up National Wine Retailer of the Year at an awards ceremony at the Drinks Retailing Awards in London last week.

More than 300 guests were in attendance at the Dorchester on 1st February where Corks Out was also named runner up in the Drinks Retailer of the Year category.

The awards reflect and reward best practice across the spectrum of the take-home drinks market and are unique in recognising excellence among both independent and multiple retailers.

After being nominated there was two rounds of judging, which included a visit from one of the judges to assess just what Corks Out had to offer.

Rosie Davenport, Editor at Off Licence News said: "Corks Out is widely recognised as one of the UK's leading independents continually evolving and investing in its growing number of stores. This year has seen even more development as owner Ruth Yates moved the art of hand-selling wines up a gear by installing wine sampling machines. Simply a fantastic place to shop and to be inspired about wine."

Ruth Yates, owner of Corks Out, said "We were over the moon to win this award, something that we have been striving for over the last few years. I am very proud of the commitment of the Corks Out team and grateful for the support we get from our loyal customers.

"Corks Out means such a lot to me and it is our ultimate aim to provide excellent service, a point of difference and most of all help to demystify wine. With 17 awards behind us we are proud of the recognition and we must be doing something right."
