Local musical theatre company bring A Christmas Carol to Wilmslow

For their first major show since 2019, Alderley and Wilmslow Musical Theatre company are bringing Dickensian London to Wilmslow - complete with ghosts and ghouls - and the iconic Ebeneezer Scrooge!

A Christmas Carol will be performed at The Evans Theatre, Wilmslow Leisure Centre from Tuesday 22nd November to Saturday 26th November at 7:30pm, plus a matinee on Saturday at 2:30pm.

Director Andrew Lee, graduate of Mountview, London, says: "We're putting on a unique version, that takes the greatest story ever told back to its dark roots. I've loved directing it. I've felt a sense of freedom with it. We've been able to try stuff out and see what works, and everything we've done we've built together. The cast are fantastic like that - always willing to try things, and equally willing to try something totally different if that doesn't work. There's a real togetherness in the group. I think we've found such a good mixture of people here."

Musical Director Ed Nurse, who will have full orchestra behind him, said "The score is by Menken, my favourite composer. He creates such stories in his music - it's a pleasure to play."

Adrian Grace plays Mr Bah Humbug himself - Ebeneezer Scrooge. And slowly, with the help of four spooky spectres, he realises the error of his ways, and discovers the joys of Christmas, finally!
