Getting into the swing for the 2018 Poppy Appeal

PHoto 1 RBL Tea Dance 2018 (1)

Last week saw the launch of this year's Poppy Appeal, with a tea dance at the Festival Hall Sunday, 21st October.

The annual event which kicks-off the period of remembrance in the village was well attended and generated £640 towards the Poppy Appeal - which is especially poignant this year because it marks 100 years since the end of the Great War and the centenary year for the Royal British Legion.

Steve Taggart, Poppy Appeal Organiser said "The Alderley Edge branch is small in number however we are committed to maintaining a presence in the village and ensuring that the sacrifice made by the local people named on the cenotaph are never forgotten. We are thankful for the support of the Parish Council and the Union Club for their commitment of ongoing support."

If you would like to volunteer to help with the collections, have a collection box in your business, or are a veteran who would like to participate in the parade please do not hesitate to email Steve Taggart.
