Plans to create safer crossing on Congleton Road

Councillor Craig Browne is in discussion with Cheshire East Highways with a view to installing a central reservation on Congleton Road.

He explained "The purpose would be to create a safer crossing point near Woodlands Court, as I have recently been contacted by elderly residents who have experienced difficulties in accessing the bus stop on the opposite side of the road.

"A central reservation would also act as a traffic calming measure, by narrowing the surface of the road at this location."

Do you think this is a good idea or not? Please share your views via the comment box below.

The scheme would be funded through Section 106 monies which were raised from the Tesco Express development on London Road.

Any traffic calming measures on London Road would be very welcome and in particular if it assisted our elderly residents move safely around the village.
