Seafood restaurant set to open in former Tomfoolery premises

The lease has now been signed for 34 London Road which has been empty since Tomfoolery closed its doors in January 2016, five months after opening.

The new tenants are the founders of Veeno, the Manchester-based Italian wine cafe operator which was set up in 2013 and now has 11 branches, the newest of which opened in Chester last week.

However, working with different partners, Nino Francesco Caruso and Andrea Zecchino will be opening a restaurant in Alderley Edge, rather than a wine cafe.

The plan is for an Italian seafood restaurant called Blue Lobster, with a Franciacorta* Bar, to open towards the end of March, or beginning of April.

Speaking about why they decided to open in Alderley Edge, Nino Francesco Caruso told alderleyedge.com "The customers in this area seem to appreciate quality products and service and we are confident we can deliver them."

* Franciacorta is a sparkling wine from the Province of Brescia.

I spotted some activity internally this week, starting to clear the interior of the decorative features of the old owners. This should be a good move, I wish it well and look forward to the opening.

In a better spot than Loch Fyne was n hope it is successful. Also hoping for a few options for non fishy people speaking as an individual that is allergic to seafood but married to a fella that loves his fish n seafood....

Hooray !!! My shop opposite 34 London Road has longed for shopfitter/building men to commence work !!! Wonderful news that another empty unit is going to open again soon !! Personally ( and professionally ) I would love an interested party to consider no.67 London Road ( my neighbour ) as a business opportunity ??? Any offers ??
