Following our article promoting the free events taking place at Alderley Edge Library during January, staff members are delighted to have had a very successful month.

Nearly 70 people attended a special rhyme time on Tuesday, 10th January, to launch the Bears Reading Adventure scheme and meet Mr Bookstart Bear.

Librarian Janet Haley explained "This is a scheme available at all Cheshire East Libraries, for preschool children aged 3+. They receive their own Bears Reading Adventure book, and collect stickers to put in their book each time they visit the library and borrow a library book, there are ten stickers to collect."

A new Lego club also provide a bit attraction and will continue on the second Thursday and Saturday of each month. This is a free suitable for children aged 5+, accompanied by their parent or carer.

Details of the library's February events are available in our events calendar.

Janet added "We are especially looking forward to half term, when we are holding a hearing dogs drop in event, this was very popular in the summer with lots of people popping in to meet the hearing dog puppies and to find out about the valuable work they do training hearing dogs."
