Firefighters were called to a report of a fire at an Alderley Edge restaurant this evening.
A fire engine from Wilmslow attended Piccolinos on Wilmslow Road at 6.23pm and crews checked the property with a thermal imaging camera.
They found that the incident was a false alarm caused by a faulty air conditioning unit.
The restaurant was evacuated while the investigation was underway.
