Monks Heath & Bollington Lane improvements

As part of the works for the Alderley Edge bypass, Birse have to upgrade Bollington Lane. The work will include the construction of a southbound left-turn lane at Monks Heath and the provision of traffic signals at either end.

Birse intend to begin this work on Monday 23 November and it is currently expected to take until October next year to complete. The duration is due in part to the large number of utilities such as water, electrics, phone lines, etc, which need to be diverted. Birse have advised us that they will endeavour to carry out as much work as possible during off-peak times.

A spokes person from Birse told us "Some of the work will involve the use of temporary traffic signals, however please be assured that the signals will be manually controlled during the working day and removed when safety permits."

"Inevitably the Monks Heath works will cause some delay for which we apologise. Thank you for your patience while the work takes place."
