Supermarket's plans for second external seating area approved

Waitrose have been granted planning permission to install another external seating area at the front of the store to provide customers with an additional area where they can consume takeaway food or drink which has been bought in-store.

The proposal is to locate the new outdoor seating close to the exit of the store. It will consist of some non-fixed tables and chairs along with fixed benches, providing seating for 16 customers. The seating area will be enclosed with the use of fixed and non-fixed planters.

Permission has also been granted of the removal of 16 existing bollards and installation of 46 new bollards along the edge of the pavement and car park.
