Parish Council applies to change rear and side elevations of Festival Hall

DSCN1204

Alderley Edge Parish Council has applied for listed building consent for changes to the rear and side elevations of the Festival Hall.

Planning permission has been granted (reference 12/1361M) for the alterations and extension to create a new medical practice and new entrance to the hall. Planning permission has also been granted (reference 14/5764M) for a new entrance lobby to the Festival Hall.

This latest application (reference 15/3560M) is being made to improve the light distribution and allow for better use of the hall following the internal refurbishment.

Planned works include removing the raised platform and relocating the bar to the ground floor, which will be fully levelled. The existing stairs will be retained, and provision for a lift is incorporated in the proposal, providing access to the first floor where new office space is being created to allow for better all-round use of the Festival Hall.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 15/3560M. The deadline for submitting comments is September 3rd and a decision is expected by 29th September.
