Plans for new shop and clinic approved

A planning application has been approved for the change of use of 51 London Road, the former Wine Rack premises which has been vacant for over 5 years.

The applicant Pedal Pulses Ltd, trading as Margaret Dabbs, will occupy the ground floor and basement with a retail outlet for the sale of foot and hand care products as well as a clinic for hand, feet and nail treatments.

Margaret Dabbs is a well established retail brand with retail premises in Marylebone, Notting Hill and Dubai. Alderley Edge has been selected for their first UK venture outside of London.

The retail outlet is expected to create 10 full-time and 2 part-time jobs.

Work is currently underway to demolish 7 Stevens Street, which was last used as a bookmakers, and erect a new building. Additionally 51/51A London Road is being extended and converted to create two ground floor retail units (Henry Johnstone Jewellers will remain in their current premises) with eight 2-bedroom apartments above and on-site parking. The 12-month project is due to be completed in June 2016.

The proposed opening hours for the Margaret Dabbs shop and clinic are 9am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and 12noon to 6pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
