A recent planning application for changes to Alderley Edge Festival Hall, which was built in 1927 for the Alderley Edge Music Festival, has been approved.
Alderley Edge Parish Council has been granted permission for minor amendments which include changes to the internal layout, the installation of a timber bin store at the rear of the hall for use by the medical centre and the replacement of a door with a window on the allotment facing elevation.
Changes to the parking configuration are also included in the amendments, to enable the disabled parking to be relocated to a position immediately adjacent to the side entrance for the festival hall - which results in the creation of one additional parking space for visitors.
These are amendments to an earlier application (reference 12/1361M - approved in November 2013) for alterations and extensions to the hall to enable a medical practice to be created at the front of the hall.
This latest application, submitted in December 2014, was approved on the grounds that "The proposed alteration to the approved scheme would not significantly alter the approved development. It is considered that the change is of an acceptable design and the re- configuration of the car parking layout would have no greater impact upon residential amenity than existing.
"The proposed changes are considered to be non material amendments to the previously approved, extant application which can be approved."
The new planning application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 14/5580M.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
So still no link between the medical centre project and Heyes lane allotment site.
So I fail to see how a few allotment holders were ever a risk to the medical centre project as the PC liked to say so often last year.
