'Do not be alarmed' as ITV drama films in Alderley Edge

Businesses and residents are being warned not to be alarmed as filming for a crime drama takes place in the village.

Films crews will be in Alderley Edge on Friday, 5th December, filming for a new three-part drama starring Ray Winstone and Amanda Redman.

Produced by ITV Studios and GroupM Entertainment, The Trials of Jimmy Rose tells the story of the notorious armed robber Jimmy Rose, played by Ray Winstone, who throughout his lifetime has made crime pay. Amanda Redman is playing his wife Jackie.

Filming will take place in Lock and Parker estate agents from 7am to approximately 1.30pm and then on the pavement from the De Trafford Arms pub down to the bus stop outside the Bar and Grill until about 4pm.

Businesses and residents have received letters warning them not to be alarmed if they see one of the actors lying on the floor.

For the scene where actors walk down from the De Trafford Arms the traffic will be held on George Street and Chorley Hall Lane for the duration of the take, which is only expected to be two to three minutes.

Permission has been granted for the crews to cone off some parking bays the night before, including a section behind Lock & Parker, the top five bays on George Street and some outside the Bar and Grill.

The Trials of Jimmy Rose is a three-part drama written created by Alan Whiting, who has written for Heartbeat, Wire in the Blood, Steel River Blues and Kingdom. It is directed by Adrian Shergold, who is known for Lucan, Mad Dogs and Dirty Filthy Love.

Ray Winstone commented "Alan Whiting has created and written a gift of a role. I'm excited to be playing him and to be working with the great Amanda Redman. She's such a fine actress, and together with Adrian Shergold and the production team, I'm sure we'll be able to bring Jimmy and Jackie to life."

The drama went into production in November and is being filmed around the Manchester area. A date is yet to be confirmed for when it will air next year.
