The Alderley Edge Christmas light switch on, which is always a popular community event, will have the added attraction of a festive market this year.
Forty stalls will be located down the centre of London Road for the event on Thursday 20th November, including 11 local traders such as Wienholts and Beauty Works.
The market will provide a great opportunity to purchase some unique Christmas gifts with a wide range of traders offering a selection of handmade crafts, ceramics, fused glass and mosaics, jewellery, mulled wine and cider and handmade children's clothes as well as a selection of tasty homemade local foods.
Christine Munro has organised the market on behalf of Alderley Edge Traders Action Group and has received an overwhelming response.
She explained "I received over 150 applications for a space at the market which was amazing, and it was difficult to choose from them all, but I hope I have a really good mix for everyone to enjoy."
London Road will be closed for the evening from 3.30pm to 11.30pm on Thursday 20th November (between the junctions with Chapel Road and Clifton Street) and the market stalls will be open from 5pm to 10pm giving plenty of time to shop both before and after the Christmas lights are switched on.
In addition to Father Christmas making an appearance on his sleigh, other attractions will include a performance by the Alderley District Scout Band and a selection of refreshments including the ever popular hog roast and mulled wine.
The Christmas lights switch on will be followed by open mic performances until 10.00pm.
We will publish further information about plans for the Alderley Edge Christmas light switch on shortly.
