Edward Meeks shoe shop is celebrating opening its fifth UK branch in Alderley Edge with a launch party on 20th November.
Guests are invited to join the team for a glass of champagne and pick up a special wallet offering a whole range of promotions available at Meeks from £10 off to a free pair of shoes.
The store which is based on London Road stocks a wide range of world renowned Ecco UK shoes for men and ladies, including golf shoes. Footwear by ultra prestigious brand Church's, worn by celebrities such as George Clooney, Jude Law and David Beckham is also available at the store.
"We were looking for a shop in South Manchester and the shop had a good feel to it, and we like the local/village feel that Alderley Edge has" Said Owner John Meeks. "We are delighted to be one of only three shops outside London to stock Church's shoes and felt like Cheshire would be the perfect market for this fine leather footwear."
Meeks Shoes is a family firm that was established in Ashton-under-Lyne 113 years ago in 1901 by Edward Meeks who ran away from home at the age of 16 with just a shilling in his pocket. After boarding a train to Ashton-under-Lyne Edward managed to get a job as a sales assistant in a shoe shop and eventually saved enough money to start his own shop. He became very involved in the local community and was awarded Alderman of the town.
Today the business is run by the fourth generation of the family, John Meeks and his sister Sally. The company has 5 stores in Ashton-under-Lyne, Stockport, Sale, Oldham and Alderley Edge.
The shops specialise in comfort shoes and wider fitting shoes from a variety of iconic and respected brands, such as Gerry Weber, FitFlops, Gabor and the award winning Paul Green.
Join us for a mince pie plus a chance to browse our collection on Thursday 20th November from 3pm till 8pm.
